M.A.M. B-School’s Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), in collaboration with the National HRD Network (NHRD), organized a two-day session on “Training and Development” on 9th and 22nd April 2025, led by Dr. B. Aarthy, Assistant Director – Human Resource Development and Project Management, Joseph Eye Hospital, Trichy. The programme aimed to provide both theoretical and practical insights into modern training practices and HRD techniques. On Day 1, Dr. Aarthy discussed the foundations of training, emphasizing continuous learning, knowledge management, and structured programmes to bridge skill gaps. Students engaged in activity-based modules to assess training needs and design interventions. On Day 2, titled “Training and Development 2.0”, advanced topics such as KSAA (Knowledge, Skills, Attitude, Ability), on-the-job and off-the-job training methods, and Executive Development Programmes (EDPs) were covered. A segment on self-development highlighted skill acquisition, mindset building, and self-awareness, with the Johari Window model used to explain feedback and personal growth. The sessions were interactive, well-received, and effectively connected theory to real-world applications. Ms. S. Sagunthala Devi, Assistant Professor and NHRD Coordinator, efficiently coordinated the programme.
