Establishment SEDG (SC/ST) Cell
As per AICTE guidelines, a committee has been constituted for the prevention of atrocities against SC/ST students under Act No. 33 of the Scheduled Castes and the Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, 1989. Students may approach this committee for redressal of any grievance related to discrimination or harassment. The committee is responsible for recommending measures to prevent atrocities against SC/ST students and ensuring their safety and sense of security in accordance with the provisions of the Act.
The cell has been established to support students from these communities and to enhance their academic, personal, and social development. The SC/ST Committee of the college aims to empower SC/ST students by providing necessary guidance, assistance, and a supportive environment.
Objectives:
- Ensure an environment where all such students feel safe and secure on campus.
- Communicate with students and motivate them for a better future.
- Encourage curricular, co-curricular, and extra-curricular activities and relieve feelings of inferiority.
- Circulate scholarships provided by State Govt, Central Govt, UGC, and other agencies.
- Conduct training programmes on life skills and personality development.
- Create awareness of government job opportunities, reservation facilities, and exam preparation.
- Review follow-up measures to meet objectives set by the Government of India and UGC.
Role of the Committee:
The SC/ST Committee promotes social inclusion, equality, and empowerment among SC/ST students. It ensures fair representation, access to opportunities, and support services within the college community.
Functions of the SEDG (SC/ST) Cell:
- Investigate complaints and grievances of SC/ST employees and students.
- Resolve problems faced by SC/ST employees and students.
- Implement reservation policies in admissions, hostels, transport, etc.
- Provide advice and assistance regarding scholarships.
- Address any other matters of relevance.

Responsibilities:
- Provide academic, emotional, and career guidance to SC/ST students and address discrimination promptly.
- Organize seminars, workshops, and awareness programs to discourage caste-based discrimination.
- Ensure reservation policies in admissions, scholarships, and placements are implemented per regulations.
- Assist students in availing scholarships and guide them through application processes.
- Encourage participation in skill development, entrepreneurship, and leadership training.
- Maintain records of activities and submit periodic reports for compliance.
